the last time i saw her was three years ago

Hello,

I always have a hard time using the correct tense in a sentence lượt thích this, for example:

Bạn đang xem: the last time i saw her was three years ago

If I saw an acquaintance 3 years ago, and have never seen him again since then, ví I say:
"The last time I saw him is/was 3 years ago." - I wonder if I should use "is" or "was" here.

This sự kiện happened in the past ví I think I should use past tense "was", but on the other hand I wonder if I can see this as the simple fact: the time length is 3 years from when it started until now. - I maybe have this warped thought totally wrong. :p

    "Was" is the only possibility. This happened 3 years ago. This was 3 years ago.

    The length of time indeed is three years.
    However, in the phrase 'the last time I saw him', 'time' does not mean 'length of time': it means 'occasion'.
    That occasion was three years ago.
